What is Sarcopenia?

Sarcopenia is age related muscle loss. This will make common everyday activities harder, such as standing up from a chair, getting in/out of bed, and standing for prolonged periods of times.

This condition is accelerated by the following:

· Inactive lifestyle

· Unbalanced diet with low protein

· Inflammation or swelling

How to slow it down muscle loss:

· Strengthening 2 to 3 times per week

· Walking, biking, stair climbing

· Yard work/gardening

· Balanced diet full of lean protein, whole grains, vegetables, and fruits
