COMMON QUESTIONS
HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR TRAINER AT A GYM?
In addition to being a health and wellness professional, I am a licensed Occupational Therapist. I have extensive training and experience with those who are advanced in age and diagnosed with various chronic conditions including dementia, stroke, joint replacements, Parkinson's disease, osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and difficulty with walking resulting in dependency on a rollator, walker, or wheelchair.
WHAT TYPES OF HOME FITNESS EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
This will vary based on the clients and their needs. Type of equipment may include light-weight dumbbells, ankle weights, stretching bands, and a sturdy chair. For those with balance and mobility concerns, clients may incorporate their personal walking aids into their sessions.
WHAT ARE THE INFECTION CONTROL PROTOCOLS?
If you choose in-person sessions, I follow CDC guidelines for personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control standards. All equipment that I supply will be cleaned before and after each session. Julie is fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
WHAT ABOUTÂ VIRTUAL TRAINING SESSIONS?
All sessions can be conducted over FaceTime or Zoom to reduce risk and exposure. The client must have access to a device for these platforms. I can provide assistance if these platforms are new to the client.
