Mobility and Older Women

Research shows light activity roughly five hours a day reduces risk of mobility loss or disability. Light activity includes the following:

o Shopping

o Gardening or yard work

o Housekeeping tasks

o Walking

o Pet care


One in four women over the age of 65 are unable to walk 2 to 3 blocks which reduces independence and mobility. This may decrease quality of life and increase risk of falling or premature death.


So, get off that couch and start moving!
